You don't even have to read DuckDuckGo code to verify that they don't do tracking. Looking at the network tab is enough. It does 4 GET requests (for me at least) and none of them include any data besides search query. No cookies saved either.

@charlag This theory doesn't hold. It just tells you they don't do javascript-based tracking. What they do on the server side, you have no idea.

I'm not saying that they do something illegitimate there, mind you. Just that there is no way to tell.

@Konrad I only meant client side tracking. To process IPs by GDPR you're obliged to ask for consent
